The Reader Wind-Up - June 2015.

Finally It is time that we show you the books that we read during the past month. (June)

Emma:
Gobbled by Ghorks - Robert Paul Weston
I read this book because I already read the first one (The Creature Department) - Review here3.5/5

The Boundless - Kenneth Oppel
A wonderful story about a boy named William and his big adventure on a train called the Boundless 4/5

The Story Thieves - James Riley
This book was not only really good but also had a great concept. What would you do if you could jump into books? 4.5/5

The Maze Runner - James Dashner
A book about a guy who has no memory and has been sent to a mysterious place in the middle of nowhere with about 50 other guys with no memory trying to find a way out of a maze? Count me in...
4.5/5
The Scorch Trials - James Dashner
The continuation of the Maze Runner. WARNING: READ AT OWN RISK IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST BOOK OF THE SERIES IF SO then carry on. (Ashvini: What? :) 4/5

Ashvini:
Ok, so I read three books this month. Definitely not my best and I'm going to blame it on last-minute projects. I can tell you already though that this month I'm doing way better. Two weeks in and I've already completed two books and am half-way through another..

1. The 5th Wave - Rick Yancey
We already have a review on this book which you can view - here. It's a really good book. I would say more, but I'm speechless at it's wickedness. 5/5

2. The Enchantress Returns - Chris Colfer
You can definitely expect a review of this in the coming weeks. I really enjoyed The Enchantress Returns. I have to say, definitely matches the same quality as The Land of Stories (which we reviewed - here), though I'm not sure yet if it has surpassed that level. 5/5

3. The Scorch Trials - James Dashner
I'm going to save my thoughts on The Scorch Trials for our review which I'm really excited about. Let's just say though that I found this book to be a little disappointing. (Emma: It was not that bad!) 3/5

More reviews coming to a computer near you soon!

Yours Truly,
Emma and Ashvini

The Dogs - Allan Stratton.

OMG guys! We've missed you! We've literally been drowning in homework these past few months and just had to give the reviewing and blogging a break. We are sincerely sorry for our sudden absence. However, it's summer now, so you can expect tons of new posts in the next little while... :) Photo Source Link: Emma: I had a great time reading The Dogs. First, I have to say that I loved the cover and how it showed the books scary qualities. I just love the look of that blood splattered title. I think that it drew me to the book more than the summary which did not captivate my attention nearly as much as I think it could have. If you are not a fan of scary books this book might not be your forté, but if you do enjoy scary books you are in for a treat. The book was also sprinkled with a little mystery throughout that really made you theorize all of the possible directions that the story could go in. I loved how Cameron (the main character) had to piece together w...

Interview With Jennifer A. Nielsen!

Photo Source Link Over the course of the past few months, TwoGirlsThatRead has been working on a really special surprise.  When we started this blog nine months ago, we'd hoped that one day we'd be able to do cool stuff like this. However, we'd never in our wildest dreams (T Swizzle reference) thought we'd be able to do something like this so soon and with someone so kind and talented. This has been an amazing opportunity that we'd seriously like to thank Ms. Nielsen for. About a month ago, Jennifer A. Nielsen released her new book " A Night Divided."  It's a historical fiction based around the Berlin Wall. Us, being the fangirls we are, were curious. about how Jennifer A. Nielsen wrote her books, and why she wrote her books, and just her writing books in general. So, after pulling a few strings we got the opportunity of doing an interview with her and POOF! Here we are now! For those of you that don't know, Ms. Nielsen is a New ...

The Hidden Agenda of Sigrid Sugden - Jill Maclean.

Photo Source Link Emma's Rating: 4/5 Ashvini's Rating: 5/5 Emma: I thought that The Hidden Agenda of Sigrid Sugden was a very good book. First of all it was from the perspective of a bully who from the very start never wanted to be one. It was quite an interesting read. Now the first thing that I want to talk about (or more realistically write or type about) is the cover. Most people say that the cover looks boring, and yes I did think that too, but have you ever heard the phrase "never judge a book by it's cover?" Normally it means that "it is not what is on the outside that counts but it's what is on the inside". So basically to sum things up, don't ever judge a person, and the same thing goes for books... or anything for example (and this is coming from the environmentalist inside me) we are taking plants for granted! Maybe they can't talk or walk but they are still living things! Animals too if you searched up...
