So everyone who has not read this book is probably thinking: so what ... it is a book about some one who runs in mazes for a living... (my thoughts)
I feel as if there's I not much that I can say with out even spoiling it a little bit. There were some parts that I found a little slow at some parts but other than that the book is good.

I went through everything that I can say (and has not yet been said) and their were so many spoilers it is not even funny. So don't think about reading this if you have not read the Maze Runner. Let's start with my favourite character: Chuck because he's Chuck their is no other way to describe him. Notice how I said WAS because he is not alive any more. I cried when Gally through that knife toward Thomas and Chuck stepped in front of the blade. I was heart broken, out of all those people Chuck was Thomas's only true friend and I wanted him to live. As you can see I got really angry at W.I.C.K.E.D. And how they could just kill a bunch of innocent people with the snap of their fingers and get away with it. I wanted so badly hop into the book and tell them how I felt myself.

You can hope for two things...
A review on the second book since me and Ashvini obviously have different opinions and the movie/book adaptation I have not yet watched the movie because Ashvini keeps insisting that I watch it with her although she has already watched it. Tsk! Tsk! We can never find a time to hang out we are always so busy. So you might see that in roughly a month.

Ashvini:
I read this book about a year ago and it’s still kind of fuzzy so I’m trying to recall as much as I can about my thoughts and opinions and I might miss a few things but my overall feeling was I really enjoyed the book.

Since this is a dystopian/sci-fi novel there was a lot of world building to be done and simultaneously we also had to unravel the mystery surrounding The Glade. So there was a lot going on and it was balanced exceptionally well! Like when XXXXXX came up the box but didn’t come to XXXX until about a week later. (I blocked it out with X’s due to spoilers!) I also want to say that there’s a very diverse set of characters in terms of cultural backgrounds (Newt being British, Alby being African-American, and Minho being of Asian descent) which was really refreshing and unique to see in a YA novel.

The only reason I gave this book a 4/5 is because when I was near the climax/at the climax of the plot the text seemed to get really repetitive. Thomas would say something than a paragraph later it would be the same thought but worded differently. That kind of had me skimming through paragraphs because it slowed down the plot in the prime of the excitement. The excitement felt really stiff like the book was trying too hard. It didn’t feel natural it was almost like forced excitement. Speaking of forced, Thomas and Teresa really seemed forced to me. I really couldn’t see the chemistry and connection between them. It felt like they were only together because Teresa’s the only girl and they supposedly knew each other before the maze. 
Some things I'd like to see in The Scorch Trials:
-For things to flow more naturally
-To show some chemistry between Thomas/Teresa
-Reveal more about Thomas and his ties with WICKED
I still really liked The Maze Runner looking past it flaws (after all I did give it a 4/5). I recommend this book to anyone who's invested in the storyline to give a try for themselves and see if they like it :)

The Madman of Piney Woods - Christopher Paul Curtis.

Photo Source Link Ashvini's Rating: 3.5/5 Emma's Rating: 2.5/5 Ashvini: The Madman of Piney Woods was definitely and interesting read. It was really different than the usual books I tend to read. It wasn’t exactly historical fiction, it wasn’t really an adventure, definitely not realistic fiction it was somewhere in between all those genres. I have to say, I actually liked it. A few chapters into the book I was sure I wouldn’t like it. I think that’s probably because of all the violence and harsh dialogue in the book. For example, with Grandmother O’Toole and the whole Langahan’s Groceries scene and the fight between Curly Bennett and Petey, you could say I almost lost my “appetite” for the book. I don’t know why but for some reason I kept reading. I get the fact that the author wanted the details to be realistic for the time and setting of the book, but I kind of wish that he used a less savage way to show that.
